Hospital bag in car...

Since its hot and sticky most places is anyone keeping their bags with them in the car? Snacks, toiletries, electronics and all? Sorry if this is a repeat...I am sure I can dig up 5.99 somewhere :D

I think by next week (37w) we will but honestly we're a 5 min drive from the hospital so it's likely going to stay home for longer.

Not a bad idea though if you're not close to the hospital!

We're not.  It's just way too hot here for that. Luckily my in-laws live in the same neighborhood, so if we were out and about and had to go straight to the hospital, we could probably get one or the other of them to run our stuff over to us.  We do, however, have everything stacked right inside the front door.

My bag and the bag for my kids to take to my mom's are by my door. I am bringing my person laptop and would not want that in the car and I'm afraid some of my toiletries would spoil in the heat. We are not close to my hospital (30 min) but if needed, my mom can go to my house to get the bags and can bring them to me since she'll have my kids anyways. I'm not that worried, for whatever reason I feel like I will go into labor at night while I'm at home.

I am not leaving anything in car. We are banking cord blood, and that box cant stay in the car. Since that is the one absolute thing we need at the hospital, we are leaving the clothes and whatnot packed in the house. My mom can get everything to us in 40 minutes should we be away from home at time of admission.

I wouldn't unless you have a long travel to the hospital. When I went into labor I packed my bag that morning before we headed in. You Should be fine with leaving it at your house until its time.

I didn't have a bag packed but I wouldn't have kept it in my car. If you want, throw a small shopping bag with some pads and a change of clothes on your car, in event of your water breaking while you're out, but it is too hot for electronics and food in the car.

Ours is in the car. I may regret that but when I packed it hubby was going to have to come get me at work, and I didn't want him to have to go by the house first. Now that I'm off work I should put it in the house.

I'm not putting mine in the car. I thought about it, but it's just too hot. We're close to the hospital, so we can go home for it, or send someone for it, if we're not home when I go into labour.

Sounds about like what I was thinking...its too hot. My main concern was for like the 4th when we are away from home for longer time frames...closer to the hospital, but further from home.

We are not keeping it in the car with the heat. I figure we can always have someone come and get it for us if need be.

Not in car due to melting of snacks but keeping it in the same place and not moving it. Husband knows where it is and if he needed to come home to get it if I went into labor while we were out he could get it very easily. We are only about 15 minutes from the hospital.

My hospital bag and boppy are in the car, but I have a little grab bag of electronics, toiletries and snacks still in our apartment. We are less than 10 minutes away from our hospital and DH hasn't really been letting us venture outside of 20-30 mins away from home anyway, he's so nervous about me having some crazy fast Hollywood birth, haha.

We do not live near the hospital but my parents do. My DH will panic so everything's at my moms house.

Nope, it's right by the door. We're not going out of town at all and plan to labor at home as long as possible so I know that'll work for us.

We are as long as it stays cool or if we have to.  Like today we were at a pool party at a Y, so it was in there the whole time we were at the party.  It came in w/us when we got home tho', cuz I needed to take a shower and I don't have duplicates of some things.
