Meaning & History

From a Norman surname which originally belonged to a person coming from the French town of Saint Maur (which means "Saint MAURUS").

 

DH is pushing strongly for this to be a contender. Presently, we love Gabriel, and Lucas. (Murry is on our list, but DH is having second thoughts). Seymour is another family name that I don't mind but I'm just not sure about. Our girl names are Margaret, Samantha, and Ramona to give you an idea of our preferences. 

 

Stereotype/thoughts/opinions/other suggestions are more than welcome!  Would you go with Seymour or another variation of the spelling?

Growing up with a name that was easily made fun of, I am very careful with names. This one would be a NO in my book.

Thank you for your opinions! DH is a big Simpsons fan (so I can't say I'm surprised but since I find the show horrendous, I'll definitely pull that card ) but the name was actually his grandfather's brother's first name. Murry is also a family name on his side and the first name of a priest who was very dear to my family. I sadly have never seen Little Shop... please don't shoot me.:)

Funny that you posted this. I was joking with ds earlier today saying "feed me Seymour" and thought to myself that it was actually a pretty good name. I'd love if I met a little Seymour!
