dd has been really hard to handle after little brother arrived. She won't do anything she used to love doing (reading books, drawing, playing with any toys, etc) and she will hardly eat when it's meal time. She was never picky before, loved all kinds of foods, and now she even refuses her absolute favorites. All she wants to do is run around, yell, cry, and throw things. I know this is common & she's wanting attention and I make sure to have plenty alone time with her, but she still acts this way... help! any advice?
Just give it time. Her world is rocked so it's going to take adjusting! Keep giving her the one on one time and try to keep things in her routine as normal as possible. This too shall pass!
Totally normal. What helped for us...time : ) Also, my DH and I make sure to each do one on one activities with just him. We just went through this for weeks. He's so much better now.
See if you can get her to "help" you care for the baby. My son was 20 months when his brother came. I always asked him to get me the diapers and wipes and he felt really important that he was helping change the baby's diaper.
