Hello everyone,
Just wanted to introduce myself and give you my background. This is my 4th pregnancy. I have had 3 miscarriages... praying that this pregnancy goes smoothly.
1st and 2nd pregnancy ended in a complete miscarriage(5 & 6 yrs ago).. 3rd one was a missed miscarriage. I went in at 12 weeks and found out that the baby stopped growing at 7 weeks. I ended up having to have a d&c. (this was about 2 yrs ago). Needless to say, I am super nervous!!
After the 3rd loss, my dr did blood test to find out what is going on. Apparently I have a gene mutation that causes me to have blood clots.
I am telling you all this because maybe there is someone else on here who got the BFP after a loss. I am also looking for a little bit of support since I am super nervous.
Re: Gene mutation
MTHFR
I haven't been to the Dr yet.. I am going to call Monday to get an appointment with my OBGYN.
Not sure what to expect at this point. Just praying the baby remains healthy until I can get an appointment.
Yup, there are quite a few of us here with clotting disorders We have a weekly check-in post called Lovely Lovenox Ladies, where those of us who take an anti-coagulant (such as Lovenox, heparin, baby aspirin, etc) to prevent clots during pregnancy. It's usually posted on Wed or Thurs, the link to the most recent check-in is below.
I have MTHFR, Factor V Leiden, and a Prothrombin mutation, and take an injectable blood thinner during pregnancy to protect both me and baby from clots. Hopefully your OB will refer you to a high risk OB (often called a Maternal Fetal Medicine dr, or MFM) and/or a hematologist (blood doctor) so a full diagnosis can be made and a treatment plan put into action to protect you both.
Good luck, and welcome!
