High-Risk Pregnancy

Saturday Bed Rest Check In

Good Morning Ladies

How did we sleep last night?

QFTD How often do you go to a hair salon?

I didn't sleep very well was having contractions and back pains but they never got regular .

Yesterday I got my daughter a hair cut we are calling  it a princess hair cut basically she has a short bob and the front can be pulled back into a cute side pony tail.

I got my hair cut and then when I got home I found a box of natural hair dye that I forgot I had so I dyed my hair and when my husband came home he didn't even notice ( that's a guy for you)

I made eggplant lasagne with tofu and my children loved it

    Good morning, everyone.

I'm in better spirits today.  10 days until I hit 24 weeks!  I used to get my hair and toes done 3-4 times a year, professionally.   Since finding out I was pregnant, I've went once.  My baby is just going to have to accept my skunk look and unpretty toes!  If only I could teach my husband how to....

     Happy day, everyone!

  • Aiche, I feel your pain! Except mine is my right hip. It doesn't matter what I try I can't get the pain to go away. It wakes me out of my sleep so I can only sleep a couple of hours at a time. Ugh! All the rolling around is causing more contractions. So, needless to say I'm not a pleasant person today.

Before pregnancy I went to the hair salon every five to six weeks for cut and color. I haven't been since April! It's going to be a long time before I get to go too!

  • yesterday was the 1st time I went to a salon it was fun but next time I will be leaving the children with their daddy or a sitter so I don't have to worry and watch them while at the salon .

I am pretty grumpy today just feeling tired and my son has taken up the bad habit of grabbing my nipples and pinching owwwwwwwwwwww

the weather here is already hot and is only getting hotter , yesterday it was 93 today is suppose to be even hotter , hot weather very pregnant mommy + 2 toddlers = very long day

  • We had a big day yesterday and got an induction date of 36w due to increase in risk for mono-di twins beyond 36w.  I'm anxious b/c it's still early, but have to trust my docs.

8 more days of bed rest (but much less strict now).  And we are going through baby clothes that have been handed down to us today.

QOTD:  I haven't had a haircut since May.....  2012!  My hair dresser was pregnant and my loss and TTC struggles were too fresh so I couldn't go for a while.  Then life got really busy, I got pregnant and just didn't make time.  I get pedicures when I can - twice since getting pregnant.  I'll probably go get one once I hit 35w, if I can sit upright for long enough :)

  • Hi everyone!

I slept pretty well last night.  Like always, I fall asleep without a problem, but when I get up to use the bathroom at 3 am, I usually can't fall asleep for about an hour and then I'm usually up and awake by 7:30.  No big deal since I am lounging around most the day anyway.

I have naturally blonde hair, so I only get it highlighted and cut 2-3 times a year even though I should probably get it cut more often lol.

Weather in Chicagoland has been so weird this month.  It is only 69* today and it looks like rain for like the 9th day in a row.  Fine by me!  Pregnancy and heat don't mix!

Did a quick run to Target this morning and now I am enjoying couch time the rest of the day and making up my shopping list and watching Scandal (SO GOOD! I RECOMMEND IT!)

    Have a great day mommas!

    Hey ladies,

Last night was a great night, I didn't wake up at all!!!  Had a dizzy spell this morning that kicked my butt, and DH was working so DD had to deal with me not only during the dizzy spell but for an hour after when I slept because it wore me out.  She was great and made a birthday card for a friend and ate a snack.

I'm getting kind of sad because I realized yesterday that I can't take her shopping for school supplies and an outfit for her first day of Kindergarten.  DH and I are processing through if we will ask grandma and her aunt to take her or if DH will take her shopping (the school supply list is so detailed that he will struggle to find what they need and he won't have fun).

QOTD: I only get my hair cut/trimmed twice a year.  I grow it out and then donate it every 3 years.  I hope to get it trimmed before the baby arrives, but don't want to have a dizzy spell in the middle of the haircut, so I'm waiting until we get much further along to see if they subside.  Hopefully I will remain on MBR so that I'll be able to go later on.

  • I'm here. : )  Lost two posts yesterday and forgot to try again.  1.5 more days to July 1 (35 weeks)!  That has been my goal since I went on bedrest. At first it seemed like a pipe dream but now it is almost here!  :D  After that I don't care. Anytime is fine.

I also think I will be taken off SBR on Monday. I can't wait. I love being home but I am going bananas wanting to do things. But my goal keeps me laying on my side (for now).

Have just been quiet and laying low.

QOTD: I don't go to the salon that often. I get my hair cut probably four times a year. I avoid the salon when pregnant (the stinky hair dye area is right near my hair dresser's chair), so I haven't had it cut since September! : O I usually get pedicures monthlyish but again not since pregnant. I like to get a body scrub two or three times a year too. :)

Sorry to everyone with aches and welcome to the new bedresters!

  • Definitely would've slept better if my BF would've been a little quieter in the living room and this morning.  Its like all the noise travels right down to our room.  Yesterday we registered at the hospital for the c-section on Tuesday.  I am so excited that I will meet my beans in just a few days!!

QFTD:  I rarely go to the salon.  It just costs too much and I can usually do the same thing myself.  I probably go 3-4 times a year.  I was trying to go before the beans arrival, but the girl who usually does my hair only comes in randomly now....oh well.

  • Hello, everyone! I'm 34 weeks today!! Ahhh, can't believe it!! Thank you, Lord!

Next doc appt on Friday. Staying pretty strict BR until at least Tuesday. We'll see how the pressure is then...I'm sure some of it is from having 10 lbs of baby, and not necessarily something to worry about. But I REALLY want to hold out until I lose the stitch at least.

DH took his last big trip to the city today. Mil who lives down the road is helping today, bless her heart. Lol. She's great but anxious. But I'm always thankful for the help!

  • Thanks everyone! I really appreciate all the support here. You guys rock!

As far away as 34 seemed every single day along this journey, it's finally here and I can't believe it. Now I'm almost feeling selfish or something wanting them to stay in until 36 weeks. But I know we'll be fine if they come now....:D and many times at night, when I'm trying to sleep I feel selfish for hoping they don't go a day over 36!! Haha

  • I haven't been sleeping well at night because of my gallbladder pain. :( I'm lucky to get a couple hours of sleep. I'm probably one of the few moms who can't wait to deliver and have a newborn in the house so I can actually sleep again lol

I go to the salon about every 4 months. It's expensive down where I live, so I sometimes try to space it out even further!
