Officially joining the bed rest crew

Hi ladies. I guess its time to join this board. I was diagnosed at 18 weeks with placenta previa. My doctor, and the sonographer both gave us hope that it would move as my uterus expanded, and I held on to that hope for a long time. I had a c-section with my daughter due to breech position, and I was really hoping to VBAC this time around.

Unfortunately, Thur morning I started bleeding. We went to the hospital, by the time we got there the bleeding had pretty much stopped. They gave me the beta shot, and then I stayed overnight for observation, and to get the second beta shot.

I am now home on bed rest. I will try to frequent this board for the check-ins at least. Have a good day!

Thank you for the welcome ladies. I am technically due Oct 1st, baby has been measuring between Oct 5 and 6th. Then we had a consult with a specialist that measured him at Oct 8th.

Yes, I will be on bed rest for the remainder of the pregnancy as far as what the doctor has said. I am hoping he will let me at least go to our baby shower which is Aug 24th.

So for now I am home, and hopefully I will not have any more bleeding. The doctor said if I do bleed again, I will have to stay in the hospital til delivery.

Hi, I have been on bedrest since 13w 10 wks ago. Only get out to go to my dr's appts. Hang in there, my due date is 10/26 so you have less bedrest to go. Are you allowed to get out? I have a cerclage and full previa that is why mine is stricter than yours

I had my first bleed this morning, hoping its my only one! I hope for you that your previa goes away, I've heard great stories of it happening even at 35 or 36 weeks... I'm 34 weeks and still hoping! Good luck!!

My doctor told me he wants me to rest, as in not be moving around a whole lot. I do have to walk through my living room to get to the bathroom. So I figure if I get up to go to the bathroom, or shower, then it should be fine to sit in the living room instead of in bed. I have an appt with him on Wed so I'm sure I'll be asking again exactly how strict my bed rest will be.

I'm sorry to hear that you had a bleed, it's pretty scary. I hope yours goes away too, and thanks for the hope!
