So, here's another sleep question. My little guy has been STTN for a while now, from 8:30 to 6:30. He also takes pretty consistent naps during the day, so his sleep patterns are really good. The only issue I'm having is we still have to walk him around to get him to sleep. It usually only takes 5 minutes or so and we can put him in the crib, but sometimes it's longer and can get exhausting. Is there sleep training that addresses that issue without affecting his STTN? I'm concerned about implementing sleep training and having a counter effect on the great hours of sleep he gets! TIA
IMO stick with what you've got and just try to put him down drowsy but awake. If you work towards that it will all work itself out.
This is just my opinion of course. DS needed to be rocked to sleep. Eventually we worked towards the drowsy, but awake thing and by 9mo we were able to just lay him down awake. I didn't have any problems with rocking him though so I might be coming from a little different POV.
I can tell you that if you sleep train to fix this it very well might get worse before it gets better. But it might not. It's just hard to say.
