My mom learned something from our IF struggles and I am so proud!
She told me today that she never asks anyone anymore if they have children. My parents have a new neighbor and my mom said she almost asked about kids, but didn't because she realizes now that she may be hitting a sensitive subject.
She also knows how much it hurts me to have people ask when we are having kids so she won't ask others that either!
Anyone else have stories of how their IF struggles opened the eyes of family or friends?

Re: My mom made me happy
That's so great! My mom actually said the same exact thing...she's much more hesitant to ask anyone now and is always cognizant of the struggles others may be facing when it comes to having a family. She gave me a similar example of talking with a young nurse at her doctor's office who she knew had been married a while. She said it dawned on her just as she was about to ask about kids that she probably shouldn't. You just never know, she said...
Though it sucks that we have to go through this, it's great that we can open the eyes of others.
My good friend who is actually pg has taken the time to get to know about IVF and will ask me things like if were doing a 3 or 5 day transfer and make other comments that show she has taken the time to read up on it.
My mom is always getting defensive and protective over it also. Shows how much they care :
