I know it is early, but I kinda wish someone had told this to me when I was expecting the first time. As a FTM, I just never thought of it!
Everyone knows that stores do huge sales around holidays & season changes. So over these next 6 mo & evern beyond that, keep an eye out for deals on things that LO may not need now, but could use next year. I was happy I thought of it last Fall when The Children's Place had all their shorts on clearance for like $1.99 a pair!! I grabbed a few pairs of 18mo sizes & I am so glad we have those right now! This last Spring, I nabbed a couple good deals on clearance winter items in size 2T that he will be able to wear this next winter. Just pack them away in a bottom drawer til it is time
This may be an obvious thing to many of you, but just wanted to put the thought in the minds of those who might not think of it like I didn't!

Re: I know it is early to think of this stuff, but .. money saving tip
Great point! Boy have I been lucky DS is within average sizes for his age! It might not be as big of a deal for those who live in places you can wear short sleeves any time of year, but that would have really bitten me here in MN. LOL

I completely agree with this warning about clothes (and even diapers). DD has always been off the charts for her weight/height. She never fit into newborn clothes, ever. At 12M, she was in 2T and at 2yo, she's now in 3T. Unfortunately, I've never been able to guess her size to buy ahead.
This....it might be better to wait until you know how your baby is growing.
Another GREAT place to get stuff is children's consignment sales!

One thing I have found helpful to look out for whien there are good sales
- diaper cream
- baby wash
- Baby Tylenol
- Hydra sense nasal aspirator (this is the BEST for LO with blocked noses - it's expensive so look for a sale)

The other nasal aspitators did nothing - this was amazing and you just don't realize but a baby with a cold can't blow their nose. All my friends swear by this.

Totally agree with you on the Tylenol. (Though I switched to Iburprophen as soon I was able. it got fevers down way better & kept them down way longer for us)
DS was breastfed so has hardly used any diaper cream. Just haven't needed it (thank lucky stars). We're still on the first tube we ever opened & he is 18 mo. I probably should check, now that we're talking about it, what kind of expiration date that stuff has! LOL

Even when they get older this can be an issue. DS was 5 wearing 3T shorts, and my nephews are almost 5 wearing 18mo shorts!
Onesies can always be layered so those are a pretty safe bet.

I have a feeling it will be an ongoing issue with us. A is 5m and 26.5" long last time I checked.
It has been so long since I could tell you how long DS was at 5 mo.
Wait--- his baby book is right here. He was 28" at a year.
How much does she weigh, Shay?
