Re: Pregnant & TTC After a Preemie Check In 6/26/13

I am doing the check-in a day earlier in hopes that I will go into labor tomorrow.Smile I had a cervix check done on Tuesday and OB said I am 4cm dilated and 100% effaced. She even said she could feel baby's head and was surprised that I have not had any contractions. So she gave me a choice of waiting until 41 weeks (because of the holidays next week, they couldn't get me in for induction at 40 weeks) or getting induced late this week. I chose to get induced mainly because I have not really had any contractions and I am not comfortable with going past 40 weeks with GD. So, induction is set for this Friday at 6:30 AM. I am so nervous and excited at the same time!

    So exciting!  Good luck!

Still hanging out on restricted activity.  I'm not contraction free like I was between my 24w and 28w episodes though, but I've only had 2 days (last night and this past weekend) where I was borderline calling.  I haven't heard anything about my GD results, but no news is supposed to be good news so I assume I passed.

Ohhhhh, Punky, how exciting, good luck!!!!

I didn't end up getting a cervical check last week because all of my docs apparently have different ways of doing things and this particular doc claimed they don't check till 39 weeks, which makes me a little stabby, since I am curious, lol!  I know it means nothing, but since I went from 0-60 with Corri, I have no idea what to expect this time. I am 38 weeks today (I cannot believe it) and have been having a ton of BH with a few actual contractions thrown in there but nothing timeable.

I am starting to get really worried that I won't actually go into labor on my own before July 11th and will end up with an RCS when I really want my VBAC. So, tonight begins "Operation: Bone" to try and move things along...I figure at best it helps me go into labor and at worst, I get an orgasm out of the deal, lol!

That's great that LO is staying put and no major things happened that made you go back to the hospital. Keep it up, Baby L&R!

Thanks! That would make me stabby too if docs from the same office did things differently. They should all be on the same page! I couldn't stop laughing at Operation: Bone. I would do the same thing, but I am so damn uncomfortable and 16 weeks of bed rest has done nothing for my level of mobility this far into the pregnancy. lol!

Awww lol! I was on pelvic rest from 24 weeks on and truthfully, we hadn't done it much before that because we were exhausted from 8 months of TTC, so this will likely be interesting, lol!

They're usually taken out between 36-37 weeks at my OB, but because my chances of a vaginal birth were 50/50, and I'd have to have surgery with a spinal to my cerclage removed (it's a Shiradkar stitch), I opted for a RCS and just leaving the cerclage in. No cervical checks for me...they were really uncomfortable for me with my first anyways.  So glad to be 38 weeks, and I'm starting to think I'll actually make it to next Thursday for the RCS.

It's official! After 2 months of TTC, I'm pregnant. I just found out last weekend. I'm due March 2nd. It will probably be moved up when dr checks me out since my period cycles are so short. I'm excited. Baby will join big sister Madeline who is 9 months old. She was born last year at 32 weeks for unexplained PTL and water broke. They will be 18 months apart. Two under Two! I'm excited!

I got my GD results today & I passed the 3 hours. Also had an ultrasound that same day, LO #2 is measuring in the 47% percentile & got to meet my new OBGYN. I don't have another appointment til 7/10, that's when we will discuss about a possible VBAC. I know this doesn't pertain to any of my updates but my LO #1 turns 18 months today, 17 months & 4 days adjusted age. Very proud of her.

Congratulations! I will add you to the pg list.

I got my GD results today amp; I passed the 3 hours. Also had an ultrasound that same day, LO 2 is measuring in the 47 percentile amp; got to meet my new OBGYN. I don't have another appointment til 7/10, that's when we will discuss about a possible VBAC. I know this doesn't pertain to any of my updates but my LO 1 turns 18 months today, 17 months amp; 4 days adjusted age. Very proud of her.

Glad to hear you passed GD test and that LO1 is doing so well!

We had a LONG day yesterday and I wasn't able to update about DD. We went in for induction at 6:30amgot pitocin, epidural, and she broke my water all by 8:30. I went in at 4cm and quickly progressed to 8cm but then I stalled for a while. When I finally reached 10cm it was about 7:00pm! OB let me push for an hour and there was absolutely no progress. She said that she was certain that DD was too big to fit through since after all the pushing, she would even move back up instead of going forward. Also, my contractions were not consistentlike i would have 23 in a row and stall for several minutes. On top of all this, I was having HORRIBLE neck and upper back painso much that I couldn't push or talk or anything. As soon as she gave me the option of CS, I went for it. They had to give me general anesthesia since I freaked out that I felt the initial incision! I woke up at 9:00 and DH was holding our beautiful daughter, Maxine, who was born at 8:30 and weighed 8lbs 6oz!

We are definitely two and throughalso opted for tubal ligation and DH will be getting vasectomy next month. I am so happy to have experienced what it's like to have a ft baby. Thank you guys so much for the constant support and words of encouragement through this whole pregnancy!

Sdthica and tlkyou guys are up next!!

I was thinking about you all day! Congratulationsl! Sounds like a very very long day. But getting to hold your baby, and waking up to your husband holding her in his arms...what a way to open your eyes!  So happy for you all!

You actually felt the incision? I hope it was just the jostling...I had to have my husband and anesthesiologist seriously talk to me during that because I felt queasy! And yep, we're up next...kiddo will be here Thursday morning for us. Had our last u/s this week and the tech said baby boy has long hair by his neck! Go enjoy your little one!

I felt the actual incision because I felt the pain. I was in shock for a second, then realized what had happened. I told DH that if that was my first birthing experience that we would be One and doneno doubts about it.

I would have freaked out too. Glad all worked out well, though!

    punky917,

Yay! Congratulations on making it to 40 weeks. Sorry for the long day and incision pain. For DS1 I didn't have time to go under before they had to do the first incision so I understand and sympathize about the pain.

Congrats again for making it full term. You did a great job.

Also, I love the name Maxine.
