So, a HS friend of mine might watch Sergio in the fall when I start school. She'll have him Mondays for 6 hours and Wednesdays for 4 hours (2 of which he'll sleep, hopefully).
She's a WM, but has these days off. I'd either bring him to her or she'd come over here with her son, who is 5 days older than S.
We both have no clue what the rate would be. So, what would you pay?
ETA: We live in a LCOL. We were going to pay a sitter, without their own kid, $50 a week, and had a lot of applicants, but I was having a hard time trusting someone I didn't know with my kid. $25 a day is pretty standard around here.
Re: How much? Sitter rates.
I am paying a friend $9 an hour to watch DD this summer while I work for a few weeks ($75 per day) She will be watching DD at her house, I will have to drop off and pick up.
If it was a long term arrangement, I wouldn't want to pay as much as I am.
Our daycare (a center) was about $6/hour. When I looked at in home, rates were about $3 - $5/hour. My SAHM friends who babysit on the side charge about $5/hour.
I pay our date night babysitter $10/hour, plus usually a bit more for gas since she lives far away.
