Trying to Get Pregnant

inspiration

I am new here, but I need some inspiration! I know there are so many of us who wish to be mothers, but how do I know what my calling is? When is it time to stop trying and look into other options? I so want to feel a baby kicking my belly, but am starting to feel after over 2 years this hope is dwindling moment by moment. Any inspirational words from others would be truly helpful. God Bless!

If you have been trying for two years with no success, try seeing a doctor. A reproductive endocrinologist can check you out and see if there is a reason for your lack of success and can potentially give you options to getting your baby.

  • You've been trying for 2 years. Have you seen a doctor?

Welcome to the board. You can learn a lot here about fertility, etc. Read the newbie blog and start charting, if you're not already. Good luck!

I'm so sorry for your losses. This and the TTCAL board might be great places for you to find support in other women who want to be mothers.

  • Just wanted to say I'm sorry for your losses. And IF is really hard. If you're feeling hopeless about it, it's usually a good time to take a break from the stress, relax a little, step away from the situation for a little while to gain perspective and nurture yourself - hobbies, friends, whatever comforts you.

And then evaluate your options, what you are and are not willing to do. And your next step.

I know it's easier said than done. Wishing you lots of luck!

  • Not a personal story but I have a friend who went 7 years and 2 M/Cs before getting a take home baby. Now she has 2 beautiful healthy boys. If it's really what you want just don't give up.

I know people mean well when the share stories about couples that tried for years and were finally successful, but this is usually not helpful to someone going through IF.  There are also many stories that don't have a happy ending, there are couples that try for years and spend 10s and sometimes 100s of thousands of dollars and never get pregnant.  Sometimes giving up is not about what you want.

ETA: I reread the OP and she did ask for inspiration, so maybe success stories is what she wants to here.  But I will stand by my statement that success stories are not always inspirational to people struggling with IF.

  • Thank you for this. It is very hard to hear stories like this, especially when we find ourselves believing we will never be one of those stories...
