Ok so I haven't asked this because I've been trying to figure this out on my own but I just can't. What's with the . In the middle of the names??

I totally don't understand.

Typically it's not a positive when the name hits this board so they don't want it to show up in case someone searches for their horrible name choice.

Yep, I especially do it if I post former student names in a gawker thread, like Pre.shus or D.ay-Spa.rkles.

It annoys me. I'd say about 75% of the time that someone uses that dumb period, that its totally unnecessary. If your FB friend named their kid Kaylee Marie, the periods are not needed. There are a hundred Kaylees, and this post on the name isn't going to be showing up in the first few pages of a google search. And when you're posting your own kid's name, also stupid.

Now, your cousin named her kid Persephone Cloverfieldlynnlee, okay, fine, use the period.
