Trying to Get Pregnant

Noob OPK Question ( + or -)

So, this is my first cycle really using OPKs.

My first go-around on this board, I remember somebody saying something about OPKs being positive if part of the line is as dark as the control line. Is there truth to that? Or am I completely making that up? Haha.

And what happened to the Pee On a Stick website, because it doesn't show up for me anymore? I was trying to avoid asking this question here, but couldn't really find what I was looking for.

Here is my latest OPK: (Sorry it's so huge...I have been having so much trouble uploading pictures on here lately.)

  • Negative.  The first time I saw a positive it all made sense, they really are as dark as the control.

Okay. Thanks! I was just curious because the first part of the test line is as dark as the control line. I will keep testing :) It's definitely getting darker, not that it means anything.

    Thanks! :)

  • You aren't going crazy, peeonastick.com is gone. Crying I have also read that an OPK can be considered positive if part of the line is as dark or darker than the darkest part of the control line. That said, yours is negative. . .But getting there!

    Best of luck!

  • Negative. It's annoying to hear, but you'll "know" when you get a positive--at least for me, it's glaringly obvious. Hope that helps!

Man! I loved that website. What a bummer! And thank you! I'm glad I'm not the only one that heard that! I'll keep testing! I mean, I have such weird cycles. I'm on CD 29 :(

  • I'm not sure what others think of this site, but countdowntopregnancy.com is really useful for seeing examples of positive OPK's. Go to the HTP and OPK image gallery, and then select just OPK's from the drop down menu. I found it very helpful.

That's so funny you said that - I just went there and looked at the gallery! :) Great minds ;)
