What was your favorite slang term growing up? Not sure I used much, but it was the 80s/90s, so I might have said psych or "as a mug" at some point in my youth.

Oh man! I forgot about 'as a mug'. We were always, "hotter than a mug, yo."

  • I think I use cray cray, gnarly, and presh (last one when I am far too drunk).

I hate when people say YOLO. I will throat punch the next person who says it in a 15 ft radius of me.

I used to say wicked a lot. Or talk in text language, which now just seems asinine and  infuriating.

  • We made up a term in HS called 'smallmouth biitch'.

It's when someone comes up to you wanting to fight all gansta like and they're all like, "w-sup?" and their mouth is all small and forms a little 'o', hence having a small mouth.

So if we were angry, we'd be like, "Quit being a small mouth biitch, yo."

"Your truth is different from my truth, and we're both right."

What slang terms are your favorite right now?  King kong biotch, totes (I sorta hate myself for that one), dude (forever and always),

What slang do you hate?  YOLO, totes (see above)

What was your favorite slang term growing up?  Dude (see above), psych, talk to the hand, bomb diggity.

Funny story:  It was night, DH was standing in the lighted garage, I was getting ready to leave so I'm standing behind my car in the dark and as I was leaving, I said, "Peace out humphrey" and DH replied (in his deep loud voice), "Peace.  In The Middle East!"  And the very nice Arab couple who recently moved to our neighborhood just happened to be walking past our driveway at that moment and since they couldn't see me, they thought DH was talking to them.  So they turned towards us, lightly bowed, and said, "And in your country, too."

I could have died.  We introduced ourselves, relations between neighbors and foreign cultures are good.

  • What slang terms are your favorite right now? Cray cray, janky, and I do call my sister hooker lol

What slang do you hate? Totes, adorbs, presh....basically 99 percent of the abbreviated words people are saying now!

  • What slang terms are your favorite right now? Newb

What slang do you hate? Can't think of anything

What was your favorite slang term growing up? Rad
  • What slang terms are your favorite right now? I will always say "dude" a lot. I say "hot mess" a lot, too. Everything is "a hot mess." I've got some of the girls at work saying it now. Yes!

What slang do you hate? Anything and everything derogatory. Especially the "n word" and the "c word." Those make me cringe. I don't mind "you only live once" but abbreviate it to "YOLO" and I cannot stand it.

What was your favorite slang term growing up? I miss pretty much all slang popular in the 90s. "Aight" "Da bomb" "Duh, big red truck"

ETA: So I just googled 90s slang and apparently I'm still stuck in the 90s because I still say half this stuff!

  • My Faves: obvi, dude, chill out.

I hate: FML. Is your life really that bad?!? Really???

I used to say: Like. All the time. My friend and I hate/loved using that word. We tried having a contest to see who could use it the least. I think we both lost because we said it so often.

  • What slang terms are your favorite right now? - I don't know where I picked this up recently but I keep saying HOLLA!!!!!!!!!!!! I say it a lot more in my head than I do out loud for fear of freaking people out lol. Also, nast, cray cray, that sh!t cray, bitches be trippin, other things that make me sound ghetto although I am not. And I will always say Dude.

What slang do you hate? Eh, I dunno. YOLO is annoying, and SWAG, seriously, that one makes me want to punch people.

What was your favorite slang term growing up? I have nooo clue! I'm sure there were many and they were all annoying!
  • What slang terms are your favorite right now?  Dude, hooker (usually when referring to my male friends), and "word"

"Your accent is horrible and your grammar not much better." "But apart from that-" "Also, it sounded like you were asking the baker how his penis is, which I don't think was your intention at all." "Ah. Best we stick to English, then." -James Lovegrove "The Age of Zeus"
  • What slang terms are your favorite right now?  Right now, I love saying "stoked" a lot.  Must be because of my surfer husband!  I also love "cray cray"

What slang do you hate?  YOLO!

What was your favorite slang term growing up?  "Trust"  as in "I can slap a beyotch hard...trust"
  • What slang terms are your favorite right now?  I have teens, so I use a lot of slang. Cray-cray, jelly,  etc. And I love to fake ghetto-talk with my dh. He thinks it's hilarious cause I'm super white and rural.
What slang do you hate? Anything racist or homophobic... and swag. Makes me wanna cut a b!tch.
What was your favorite slang term growing up? All the late 80's early 90's stuff, lots of what's been already said.
