Trying to Get Pregnant

Drinking & Temping

For those with experience, (this is my first cycle temping), does drinking alcohol at night affect your temp the next morning at all?

Re: Drinking & Temping

  • Typically if I have one or two drinks, I don't see a difference.  Anything more than two, I definitely see a jump.

  • Maybe? I don't know, I'm not an expert, but that would explain what I experienced. I just started charting three days ago. Day 1, went to bed sober, 97 degrees in AM. Day 2, went to bed very intoxicated, 97.6 degrees in AM. Day 3, went to bed sober, 97 degrees AM. So given my experience, I would say yes, but it could just be a coincidence! I hope somebody with more knowledge can give you a concrete answer.

  • Yep it does.  It makes my temp much higher even after only a few.

  • If I have more than two drinks, I usually see an increase in my temperature. However, if I'm drinking a lot I'm probably also staying up pretty late so I think it's the combination of alcohol and lack of sleep that causes such a big jump for me.

Drinking has a huge impact on my temps, as alcohol impacts the amount/quality of my sleep.  That is the main reason I suck at temping on the weekends.  I'll go from low 97 during the week to mid-98 on the weekends.

    This.

Me three. If I get drunk, then I note that I was drinking and I usually see a pretty big temp spike.

I thought it must've had a correlation. Mine was up after a few (more than 2) glasses of wine a few nights this weekend. Thanks for letting me know your experiences! I feel much better now! :)
