Cloth Diapering

Well water

If you have well water, what's your favorite detergent to clean CDs? We have a water softener but it's 23 years old I'm guessing, so it's probably not getting all the iron out.

I'm using Rockin Green classic rock right now and I've used Allen's as well. I can still smell the diapers in the dryer sometimes, and I'm wondering if there's something better out there to use.

Re: Well water

  • I don't have well water, but my parents do. I use Tide powder both at home with city water and when we visit them.

  • When we have water, we have well water. Our well pump broke today! We use Charlie's. have had no problems with the diapers using it. We do use Charlie's for all our laundry though too.

I have well water and I use Tide. It's worked great.

  • I made my own detergent.  however, I don't think it's working as well as it needs to.  I'm grabbing some Tide and also another box of Calgon.  Calgon will help keep the iron off your dipes.
