If we have a girl this time around her middle name will be named after my DH's grandmother whose name was Adelaide (she passed about 1 year ago). My SIL also has her middle name named after her (Adelle). Apparently when my MIL was naming her my husband's grandmother said "well don't give her the middle name Adelaide, that's an awfully old-fashioned name for a baby".
Basically what we are looking for would be a derivative of the name Adelaide. I don't think we'd want to choose the name Adelaide only because I'm not sure she would have liked that based on what she said years ago to my MIL. Any ideas for a nice derivative? So far all I can think of is Adelle or Adilyn.
Any ideas? The first name would be Lauren (also a family name). Looking for any derivative you can think of or the best sounding one. Thanks.

Re: Adelaide
ETA: we just weren't to use the actual name as the middle name based on what she said to my MIL about her daughter (whose middle name is Adelle, not her first name, I should have clarified that)
Thank you! That list is also extremely helpful!
My favorite is Ada.
Adeline or Adelina.
ETA I like old sounding names so I would just use Adelaide.

A/S findings: Baby is a girl! EIF found on heart but maternit21 came back neg for chromosome disorders!!
My grandmother was Estelle and I would have loved to honor her with the name Stella, a nn she actually didn't prefer at the time. But I think it would have been an appropriate choice for us, years later in the age of Ella's.
That said, I say go with what makes you feel comfortable. GL!
i'd just use Adelaide:
1. it's a great name
2. That sounds like an off-the-cuff remark from someone not even around to be bothered
3. It's a MN, not a FN
