We are still TTC-- but I have a good feeling about next month.  I am probably jinxing myself (as I seem to think that every month!)

H is convinced our next LO will be another girl.  We have way more names in mind for a girl-- we have an A list and a B list.  A list is staying, but considering those names, what should we cut from our B list?

A list

Margaret (Greta)

Mary Katherine/ Catherine (Mary K/Cate)

Mary Elizabeth (Betsy)

B list

Carolina (Spanish pron)

Gretchen

Evelyn

Jayne (this spelling-- family significance)

Maria

Eleanor (but dislike Ellie)

Angelina

Avalina (ahh-vah-lee-nah)

I like them all except Gretchen. No particular reason, just never have cared for that name. I really like Eleanor, Carolina, and Evelyn. I think my favorite from your list is Mary Kate. I really like double names though:)

I would keep Carolina (love this) and Jayne..   I have always preferred Greta to Gretchen- just don't like the sound of it.    Evelyn, Maria and Angelina are all fine names just a little too common for me.     Avalina would trip me up with pronounciation..  esp with all the Ava's around (AY-va)

I really like your lists. I agree you should keep all on List A. Avalina, Evelyn and Angelina would be my picks to remove from List B.

I love double names so my vote would be Mary Katherine.

I would cut Jayne. I know it has meaning for you,but seems so trendy with that y. Even though I know better, it would seem like you were trying to be you neek.

Carolina is the only one I'd keep from the B list, although I'm not sure I like the Spanish pronunciation with Josephine. Love your A list.

The only name I would cut would be Gretchen. I've just never really been a fan.

PLEASE keep Carolina! I think it is so beautiful. I love Spanish names. My father is Mexican and I adore so many of the names on his side of the family.

Love all of the feedback.  It's always good to bounce ideas off of others that have nothing to lose or gain by your decision.

Also, we are team don't share the name until birth.

I figured Avalina would be maybe hard to pronounce.  My H's middle name is Avelino- so we thought the femme version might be neat to use.

The only one I really dislike is Avalina, but only because it sounds like Javalina and I'm in the southwest, so that connection would probably get made a lot.

I love Margaret and Josephine together. We are using Pearl as a MN to honor a Margaret because we have a cat named Maggie. I was so annoyed I couldn't just use Margaret, I think it makes such a cute sibset.
