update on my nephew with downs. Infant loss mentioned
I thought Id give an update to those of you who have prayed/sent good juju for my nephew with downs syndrome.
For a while he was progressing very well, breathing better, ect...We were still having unexplained swelling and problems with his liver. On wednesday we recieved the results from his liver biopsy, and discovered that the disease found there had never been seen before by doctors. By wednesday afternoon, he began having severe breathing troubles, and the doctors had exhausted every game plan/ treatment possible. My sister and BIL made the heart wrenching desicion to turn off the machines keeping him alive. His closest family gathered with them, and we held him for 2 1/2 hours until he passed. Only now do we realize just how sick that poor baby was.
At 4 months old, he never saw his nursery, he was only held about 10 times, but he touched so many lives in his short stay. He was such a fighter, and the only reason he made it as long as he did was because of the fight inside him.
Thank you so much for all the prayers he got from you ladies here! It was much appriciated! We know the right chioce was made, and hes in a much better place.

I'm sorry you and your family went through that. It's completely unfair for a baby to be in poor health.
Children with Down syndrome have a special place in my heart, and I'm not at all surprised he's made such an impact after 4 months. Your nephew and your family will be in my prayers today.
I'm so sorry for your devastating loss. Lots of hugs and prayers headed your way.

DH (32): SA is ok, slightly low morph, normal SCSA Me (32): Slightly low progesterone, hostile CM, carrier for CF, Moderately high NKC, High TNFa, heterozyogous mutated Factor XIII, and +APA
October 2012-May 2014: 4 failed IUIs, 3 failed IVFs, and 1 failed FETw/donor embryos
November 2014: IVF w/ICSI #4 Agonist/Antagonist with EPP and Prednisone, Baby Aspirin, Lovenox, and IVIG for immune issues. Converted to freeze all due to lining issues. 2 blasts frozen on day 6!
January 2015: FET #2 Cancelled due to lining issues
April 2015: FET #2.1

TTC #1 8/2012~Chronic Pelvic Pain Condition began 10/2012~Told I was crazy by many doctors until a good specialist DXed a labral tear and bone impingement in left hip 4/2013~Surgery on left hip: 5/31/13 SUCCESS!!! Pain flares to continue indefinitely (but mostly gone).
