Is there any relief to mid back pain mainly on left side? I feel like if I could 'pop' that area I'd be fine but I can't. And the chiropractor I used to go to doesn't do pregnancy fixes. I may end up getting a maternity massage(depending on prices) but if so I'd rather wait until a little closer. I've tried the Epson salts with lavender and eucalyptus and neither really worked.... do you guys have any suggestions that have worked for you?
I know this is my 3rd baby but honestly I think it's the most 'difficult' due to other health issues in between pregnancies and the fact that I was more 'in shape' and fit for the first one. DS2 was just easy all the way around aside from heartburn.

Thanks..I've tried the heat packs and the icy/hot patches but I haven't done just plain ice packs yet.
I had thought about looking into a different chiropractor but I figured I better ask the OB about it first.
Put a tennis ball in the area of discomfort and sit in a chair. Don't move around too much, you could end up doing more damage. But if you have a knot in a muscle the pressure from the ball will help the muscle release.
Remember that midback pain might originate in your hips, lower back orn upper back so don't ignore those areas.
Posture is huge. Sitting and sleeping. Make sure to stretch it out and work on soft repetitive exercises to help build strength.

A question about the bolded.
Would you go and get adjusted while pregnant if you, as you say, would feel better if you could pop it into place if your old chiropractor did adjustments on pregnant women?
If you would then what is there to talk about with your OB? I am genuinely curious.
No... I'd still talk to the OB first. I just know the chiro I normally went to for my back pain from a car accident told me upfront that she didn't do any work on pregnant women although she knew a few practices that were specialized in that. She knew I wanted more children.... just not expecting one this early.
I threw my neck out coughing last week. Fun fun. The muscle tension was so bad that I could not swallow without incredible pain and my shoulders would "kick" every time I tried. For real.
First, I tried alternating ice and heat on it. The general rule is that ice is better for backs and heat is better for necks.
Then, I tried a maternity massage. It was an excellent massage, but I was too far gone for it to do much but leave my upper back feeling bruised.
I called my OB's office and the nurse suggested tylenol. For me, that was not helpful.
Finally, I called my pain doctor--(I have a history of back surgeries, that's why I have one). He allowed me to take flexeril, which is a category B prescription muscle relaxer. I had that okayed by my OB and then took it. Taking it sucked. Frankly, it knocked me on my a**, so I'm sure it did the same to the baby. I was prescribed 10 pills (one pill twice a day), I took it for two days, and was able to swallow. Then, I stopped taking it and just rested.
Good luck. Prenatal yoga and a simple maternity belt (specifically the $15 mini-cradle on amazon) have been godsends for me. I haven't had problems overall.
I haven't used them during pregnancy--so I'd definitely check before trying--but Ben Gay's large back patch used to be helpful to me. Doctors can also prescribe patches with lidocaine in them, or do targeted lidocaine injections called "trigger point injections." If it's really bad, it's worth asking.
