Pregnant after IF

Officially on disability leave....

So I know I've posted in the past that I wasn't having many symptoms and was worried. Boy, do I wish I took your advice and just enjoy that time because the ms came with a vengeance about a week and a half ago. I wonder why they call it morning sickness because its more like all day and night sickness!!  I lost 5 pounds last week alone. I'm gagging and dry heaving all day. The doctor offered on Tuesday to put me on disability when we went for ultra sound but I wanted to tough it out. Today I just couldn't do it and my manager actually told me to ask because she knows I'm struggling.

They say ms is a sign of healthy pregnancy so I'm thankful but this is really hard. I can't even remember days were like when I actually liked food.

Re: Officially on disability leave....

  • Did you not ask for or were you not offered meds??

I'd give those a try before going out of work....

  • Yeah I was given reglan and zofran, as well as a new prenatal with ginger. I've been on this medication for about a week but its still really bad. I work for MAC cosmetics in a Nordsrrom so I'm literally in people's faces doing makeup most of the day and its really hard when I'm gagging if I smell their breath.

My dept manager said if I don't work enough hours my benefits get suspended and I need my benefits to see my RE so she's the one who also recommened that I just get put out for a few weeks to get used to it. My RE said that most women peak at 10 weeks and start to get better by the 12th week. Im already 8 weeks so I'm just hoping these next few weeks get easier.

  • I know what you are going through.  I was so so so sick for the first few months and nothing seemed to help.  I am also on 2 meds - zofran and promethazine (suppository)  I remember that it got better when I stopped the progesterone shots and then again when I stopped the metformin.  But I still throw up at least once a day (much better than the 10-12 a day in the beginning)  I hope that it stops completely for you but it does get better.  Good luck!

  • Ugh, sorry you are going through this.  MS is no fun, and it sounds like you have a terrible case of it.  Mine did get better around 11/12 weeks, and I really hope that is the case for you as well. Good Luck!
