Anyone done anything/heard anything or planning an epic way to announce to DH or with DH to friends & family that you are expecting?
With DD 1 it was unplanned & I nervously told DH over a subway sandwich. We were planning a "big wedding" & waiting to TTC until the next year.
With Preg #2 I turned around from the computer when he got home & said, "I'm pregnant" & then continued working.. I wasn't feeling well. lol. When we found out later that it was twins I was in a state of shock & woke him & told him while crying. So, basically I sucked & made every exciting moment, not so exciting.
This will be our last pregnancy, I would like to make up for all of the un-special ways I have told DH in the past. Any ideas?
Re: Fun/Awesome ideas to announce pregnancy?
I'm interested in seeing what people have to say. I've never really thought about it.
Your children are so cute btw!
It reminds me of Myspace. But with less glitter.

TTC since March 2013. BFP 4/13/13, blighted ovum discovered 6/6/13, m/c 6/8/13.
BFP 11/10/13, EDD 7/25/13 - stick little owlet!
Last time I shoved a pee stick in his face and asked if he could see two lines. I probably won't be creative next time either because if I test in the morning, he's right there outside the door.
Telling family and friends though, I might get creative. Last time I had our families over for dinner and showed them our wedding album that I had just received. I had tucked the ultrasound pic on the last page. They were all shocked. This time I'd like to include DS is the announcement.

DH is a firefighter, so I bought this:
Baby GIRL born 9/16/201
BFP! EDD 8/1/2019 CP 4w2d
Otherwise I had planned in just buying The Littlest Big Book for Grandma to tell our moms. I have the Dad version tucked away to tell DH with. I figure writing a nice note in each would be cute.
TTC Since October 2012. I’m 27 and DH is 30

Me: 03/13 irregular cycles, hypothyroidism diagnosis

Just hoping that AF will back off and give me a chance to take a pregnancy test! All are Welcome!!
When we announced the great news with our families, we took them all out to dinner and I handed each of them an apple seed, then I told them to look it over very carefully. Once they were all done looking at it, I then said " I just wanted you to get a good idea of what your future grandchild looks like right now." It was a pretty great

For DH - you can get the kids "I'm going to be a big brother/sister" shirts/ onsies. Funny to see how long it takes him to figure it out.
With my 1st preg, it took us so long & we were on our 2nd IUI and I was so excited my temp was still up that morning, I raced to the bathroom, kicked out DH (who was about to use the bathroom) to POAS and then showed him the test to make sure I wasn't dreaming the 2nd line. not cute
Last one, while we were trying, we were calling the "baby" Bubbles. Not sure where we got the name. lol. Anyway, when got BFP, I bought a bottle of bubbles and gave them to him as a present that night. Took him a few seconds but it was a great look - wish I'd snapped a pic. One of the things that gets to me the most about losing that one - that happy look.
For others, for DS, we threw a Oktoberfest party for our friends and DH wore a shirt that said "I'm drinking for Two" Took 2 hours before someone noticed but then the news spread fast

For my first pregnancy I just shoved the pee stick in his face while he was still sleeping. For my second, I left U of M babies booties and a sign that said Second time's a charm? on the table for him to find.
For the next time I was just going to tell him, but he informed me that he wants another cute announcement. I know this doesn't help many people, but one of my ideas is to leave him a note "from" our daughter (she was born sleeping in March) telling him she has a new sister or brother on the way. That might sound a bit weird to some, but we each wrote little messages "from her" in our Mother's Day and Father's Day cards, so I think it would go over well.
My other idea is to copy off how he proposed. I'd wrap the pee stick in a box, then wrap that one in a bigger box, and a bigger box and that in a bigger box. I think that idea is cute, but it sounds like a lot of work so I might just do the note.

For the family we had a Father's Day/my birthday celebration at our house. I went to get our dad's presents and changed into a shirt that said "pregnant". My dad spotted it right away, but some others took a while. We gave them each a frame with an ultrasound pic
That's kind of cute. Also cool that it came to you in a dream
LOL at the pee stick. I've seen cute announcements with big brother/big sister t-shirts. Your first idea was creative. I like it.
lol
I think the note idea is nice, Everyone heals in difference ways. I'm sorry for your loss. Maybe with booties, a pacifier, etc. from your daughter to the new baby
So cute!
^ THIS! Lol
