Effacement question

Hi Girls,

I forgot to ask my OB this:

I am being induced on Tuesday night.  My OB said that he will give me cervadil to ripen my cervix.  I was 70% effaced at yesterday's appointment... if I am 100% effaced by Tuesday, do they still give me the cervadil?  Confused.....

I'm assuming since you won't be 40 weeks yet (judging from your siggy) that they're inducing for medical reasons, and so they want to get the baby out...even fully effaced, you have to dilated AND be in labor, so I'm guessing that unless you're done or are doing both those as well prior to the scheduled induction, they'll still do the cervadil--likely they're trying to avoid pitocin, so hopefully the cervidil is enough. Good luck! If they weren't worried about getting LO out, no, they wouldn't need to do anything, but if they need LO delivered, they'll need to give you something unless you're already in labor.
