Intro: I am a regular on the multiples board I do drop ins on other boards. We are officially TTC 4. Best wishes to all of you TTGP :

I know everyone is different How long did it take for your cycle to regulate? Any issues? Any success stories TTC after ParaGaurd? I removed mine 2 weeks after my cycle because that was the only available apt. It has been 30 days still waiting on AF. Just curious about other ladies experiences. TIA

Hi! I am more if a lurker but wanted to share my story. I loved my paragard. I had it for 15 years. Removed it on November 17th and got pregnant about the same week. I never got a period. My DD is now 10 months old. I was also 36 years old, so I am definitely an advocate for paragard. I got another one placed 8 weeks after having my daughter. Good luck to you!!

  • Welcome!

For TTC DD, I had my Paraguard removed, got my period two weeks later, got pregnant on our second month of trying.

This month, I got my Paraguard removed 3 weeks ago and am testing with a HPT this weekend, hoping I never get my period after removal.

Good luck! We're you getting your periods regularly with the Paraguard? I was able to use OPks and pinpoint ovulation while the Paraguard was still in place.

  • Paragard is non-hormonal and does not change your menstrual cycle, except that some people experience heavier bleeding and cramps after insertion, due to a reaction to the copper (which is how it works :)). It doesn't affect ovulation or your cycle length, though.

Are you charting at all? I'm on CD 31 and had my Paragard out earlier this cycle, but I'm only 10 DPO, and I often O late, so it's really not unusual for me. Cycles can vary in length for many reasons, but removal of the IUD probably isn't the cause.

Also, you can get pregnant immediately after its removal- we're trying right away this first cycle. So, you can test every few days or once a week until you get a positive test or your period shows up. GL!

Wow, that's a success story if I ever heard one. You are blessed. Thanks for sharing :)

Thank you! Yes, they were regular, but I have no experience with OPK's I will start reading up on it :)

I had paraguard removed it and didn't have a period for two months. I'm in what will hopefully be my first 'normal' cycle

Thank you, I won't expect I'm pregnant then.. I will wait & see :) GL

Thank you so much, I have no experience with charting & I just barely read last night about CD's OPK's & temps. When/if AF shows up, I will start from there. If nothing by the 30th, I will test. I will rack my brain testing every few days. lol.

     GL as well!!
