fasting?

I have to take my GD test tomorrow, where you drink the liquid and have to wait one hour..I think i've seen other women talking about having to fast before the test, but my doctor didn't mention anything about it, so I don't know if it's required or not. I meant to call the doctor's office today but I forgot.

It varies from OB to OB whether you are to fast or not, so if you were not told to fast, I would not fast.

If your Dr. didn't mention fasting then I'm sure it's not required.

My OB didn't require me to fast.

Yeah, we can't tell you. That is something that varies from lab to lab with your instructions. It's easier to fast than eat, but you might have to do it over another day. Call them first thing,

This is one of those things that writing it down would serve you well.

If your doctor didn't say anything I wouldn't worry. Each doctor is different so when it comes down to the GD tests just listen to the doctor. If they gave you strict guidelines to follow, follow. If not dont stress. It's a simple test.

I didn't have to fast, mine actually didn't want me to so they could get a most accurate reading. I would just give them a quick call if your not sure!

I think your doctor would have mentioned it if you needed to.  I did not fast with mine, but I did try and watch my sugar intake the day of and the day before.  I had my appointment fairly early in the day so I didn't eat breakfast beforehand but they didn't tell me I couldn't.  If you do eat just keep your sugar and carb intake in to consideration.

It depends on your OB but mine said to eat a light protein packed breakfast.

I was not told to fast. If your OB did not tell you to I wouldn't.

Depends on what your OB instructs, mine didn't have me fast.

I didnt have to fast, But the bottle said not to eat after drinking it. So I kinda ended up fasting because I was going to eat after I drank it but couldnt.
