There isn't really a specific time... Anything could happen. Twin pregnancy have a higher likelihood of being high risk than that of a singleton. Sorry
IVF (BCPs starting 10/30/12, ER 11/18/12, 5dt of 1 beautiful, healthy embryo 11/23/12)
BFP 12/02/12, u/s @ 6w,5d showed 2 HBs! Identical twins!!
Bed rest from 21w-35w due to short cervix, hospital bed rest from 23w-32w due to PTL
Our rainbows were born 07/19/13 (36w, 5d)
Even with a singleton you are not totally safe after the first tri. It's just that the risk of m/c goes down. Same with a twin pregnancy but the overall risks are still higher. GL hon!
Unexplained Infertility
After two Clomid cycles, three injectable IUI cycles, two IVFs, two miscarriages, and one lap surgery, IVF #2 has brought us our little boy!
TTC #2 After months of being postponed or cancelled, FET #1.3 (Natural FET) brought us twin girls!
I think there is no right answer to this. My MFM practice will do everything in their power to keep the babies alive after 24 weeks. They jump to a 90% survival rate at 28w. The practice no longer tries to stop labor at 34 weeks. They'd like to see everyone hit 36 weeks. And they consider 38 weeks the end and will induce/c-section. So... I consider 34/36 safe based on all of that.
Post 32 weeks. The doctors would do their best to stop contractions until one reaches 34 weeks and after 34 weeks they wouldn't stop them. Babies born after 32 weeks do absolutely fine. These were my doctor's words. So anytime after 32 weeks is considered safe.
If you just mean m/c rate dropping like at the end of the singleton first tri then it's about the same. I was worried about m/c one baby, my dr said after 10 weeks you have an 80% chance that they both make it, after 12 weeks it's higher. I didn't bother to verify that with any other source because it made me feel better.
Yes you have a high risk pg and things can go wrong anytime, statistically you're higher risk with mulitiples but you still have a higher chance of having healthy babies then not.

I'm just in my third.
Twin pgs are never really safe.
Truth.
Mine are 11 months old and I still don't feel safe....mainly for the stuff in my apt as they break everything.
Seriously though...try not to stress too much about it. All extra stress you put on yourself affects your pregnancy. Enjoy it!
This.
