Lo is 7 weeks old I named her Lillian rose after my grandma the plan was to call her lily. Several people are calling her Lillian and I actually don't like how it sounds. Now I am wondering if I should have went with Lilliana instead of Lillian. I think it would likely be a pain to change her name at this point. Her sisters name is Isabella. Thoughts?
Re: Not so sure about the name I picked...
Since her name is Lillian, you must have thought that there was a possibility people would call her that, right?
I guess if I were you, when people called her Lillian I would respond with a "we call her Lily" and leave it at that.
We hadn't decided on a name 100 percent when I had her in fact I had a list of names that I took with me to the hospital But dh thought that was ridiculous to pull out a list and Lillian was the first name I could remember off the list. I said I wanted it somewhere in the name and so that became the name. It just seems like a very adult name for a little baby.
This.
Times, like, a million.
I disagree, because that's what my mom did for my name and I hate it. It's great that my mom likes my name, but I would have loved to have the option as I got older to choose what I go by (I would have gone by the full name, if I could).
Not to mention that my name is frequently mispronounced in the shortened form, but never in the longer form, and it would have been so helpful to say, for example, my name is,Lillian, but I go by Lily, than to have people constantly butcher it.
