I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 17 when I first met my husband. Now I'm almost 24 and we were trying to get pregnant when I found out I had a huge cyst that needed to be removed. My doctor discovered during LAP that I have Endometriosis. I am currently on Lupron Depot shot for 6 months total. I go to infertility doctor on Monday to see exactly what my options are but does anyone have a similar story? Or perhaps some success stories with PCOS and Endo or maybe being on Lupron Depot? Thanks

My Blog
I normally post on TTGP, but we just went through this with my RE, so I hope no one minds me posting our experience with the same. I was diagnosed with PCOS and I knew from a previous lap I did have endo (it wasn't that bad) and my family history of it concerned my RE. I just had a lap, D&C, and hysterography done friday, and we discuss our options today. However, prior to that we were told that our best option of a quick pregnancy was going to be IVM (similar to IVF, but without me having to take all the injectables) because I have PCOS and am a very good candidate for it. He didn't think it was worthwhile to waste the time and money with IUI since we are OOP and to get the % success rate it would cost more to do the IUIs to get the same success rate than to do the IVM (which costs about 6K at the office we visit)
Part of the reason he was suggesting the IVM if endo was one of our primary issues, was that endo can change the environment in the uterus and tubes and make it hard for the sperm to meet the egg and fertilize it...I wish i could recall his exact wording (it was much more technical) but there can sometimes be enzyme or protiens (something) that search and destroy sperm. Also endo can produce cytokines that can cause inflammation that can cause an unfavorable environment for implanation. which is why he put me on fish oil among other things. so in additional to all the other issues such as blockage of your tubes, growth over the ovaries...there can be these other complications.
granted with the results from the lap, it seems my endo is nothing like it was back in 2000 and we may not have to deal with it as an IF issue, I did have a lot of scar tissue they removed, but it may be we just have to deal with the PCOS and lack of ovulation...we find out today, though we may still have to go the IVM route. fx for today's consult.
but good luck to you, and I hope your journey is easier than ours has been so far.
