Gap: how much bigger is 3T than 2T?

DD is in 2T in almost all of her clothes. Gap 2T usually fits her nicely to slightly big and she is 2T according to their size charts. Last month at 18mo she was 26.5lbs and 33.5 inches. I got her fairisle sweater dress in 2T and it just fits.  I want her to be able to wear it through February so I think I need the 3T. We don't own any 3T yet - just how much bigger is it? Esp. clothes from the Gap. Thanks

Probably not what you want to hear, but I have found that Gap's 3T is significantly larger than the 2T, at least on my DD. I think this is especially true for their dresses. When it comes to t-shirts, the 3T actually fits her perfectly, while the last 3T dress I ordered for her was huge.

pants or tops/jackets?  DD is almost 2 and over 30 lbs and 34 inches or so and wears 2t pants and t's and 3t hoodies/coats.  The 2t tops fit perfect. 3t pants look huge but she could probably wear the tops.  Her 2t playwear tops and bottoms will fit all winter

There sizing is all over the place.

I bought DD the Fair Isle sweater dress in 2t and ended up switching to a 3t. It was not much bigger. Unlike most of their clothing. I don't think this dress is meant to be very loose.

DD wears a 2t in most GAP items. They fit her for ever. Dresses on the other hand are a hit and miss.

I think this particular style/line runs really small - the other 2T sweater dress I ordered is plenty big. Thanks girls.

Just curious if you got the matching tights??  or if you are going to do a solid color...I love this store so much.  I got her the dress last year, kind of eyeing it this year...thx
