For mobile: Update on me and questions: Clomid ladies especially come in!
So I just got back from my f/u appt to go over results of RPL blood work and my SHG. Long story short, DH and I are both "normal", and the SHG showed two small "adhesions" on my ute, but my OB doesn't think this is the problem. He's going to reach out to a colleague who is a fertility doctor to see if he would recommend surgery, but he's leaning more towards no. The only additional test he's ordering right now is an SA since it wasn't done before.
Basically he told me that as long as the SA comes back normal, which he believes it will, and I don't need surgery, he wants to start me on clomid. Because of my irregular cycles, he's concerned about inconsistent ovulation and poor egg quality. I'll find out what our next steps are actually going to be within the next 2 weeks, hopefully before I start my next cycle.
So my question(s) are for you clomid ladies. I was totally unprepared for this being an option, so I didn't really ask too many questions. I know some of the basic information, like that you can't it for more than a few cycles, and I know some of the risks. What else do I need to know? Is there any other monitoring that my doctor should be doing while I'm on it? I just want to be as prepared as possible for if/when this conversation takes place, so lay it on me! TIA!
On a funny side note, since DH now has to make a "deposit at the bank" he's thinking of bringing his sample in this. Thoughts? Haha!

Everyone welcome on my posts
Sounds like everything went well! From what I know about clomid (1 cycle so far) is you can take it for about 6 months but no longer because of the risk of cysts. Your RE will want you to come back around O time to do an ultrasound and check how many follicles are mature (how many will hopefully release eggs). If you have more than 3 or so, they most likely cancel and tell you to abstain for fear of having too many. But they typically start on a low dose, which lessens the chance of that happening. I was the same way, my cycles were totally wonky so this should help.
if you are having trouble ovulating on time like I am, they may also give you a "trigger shot" around cd15-17. Don't freak out, but it can be HCG, which will give you false BFPs for a week or so. If you have any other questions, feel free to PM me!

hey Luna,
Clomid is one of those medications that really requires consistent monitoring. I have been taking femara but clomid is very similar. Most OBGYNs use clomid because it is indicated for this whereas femara is not but works similarily.
So monitoring, you will need monitoring on CD 3 in the form of an ultrasound and bloodwork and later monitoring in the cycle. I usually go in on CD12 to see how large the follicles have grown and if they are ready to trigger. Not sure if your dr mentioned doing an HCG trigger but it really helps improve your timing and thus improve chances of conceiving. I would really recommend going to an RE if your OB isnt willing to do the necessary monitoring.
I am not sure about side effects with clomid aside from thinning the uterine lining. Many ladies have a problem with this which is why some drs switch them to femara. hope that helps!
I had lots of false pregnancy symptoms last month when I took clomid only ranging from bloating, triphasic chart, headaches, cramps, feverish, etc. Other women on here have also had similar symptoms, so don't get your hopes up too early.
Good luck!

Instead of typing info out I'll just point you to this thread which a bunch of us created long ago (two years?)... skim down to the section under treatment where it lists clomid. But *warning*, the old MOD who made it a sticky for us now has two kids so there are tickers and a kid avatar.
