Trying to Get Pregnant

Words of advice please

I'm going to try and keep this short, here we go. I have a 21 month old D and had no problems conceiving her was on the nuva ring continuously for six years the first month without I got pregnant after giving birth I had the mirena put in for little over a year had it taken out and then used the nuva ring again until I was ready to track my cycles to try and conceive midlate summer my cycles were all over with mirena, happened every month but not consistent days apart I haven't had a ring in since April last lmp was April 20th and no cycle since. I've taken multiple hpt's and had a blood test, all negative, question is how long should I wait for AF before I see if something is going on? Has anyone else had this issue?? Just confused, thanks for any and all advice!

Re: Words of advice please

  • General rule is to check with your provider after you've gone 60 days with no period and no positive HPT. Unfortunately, that can happen when coming off of hormonal BC.

You could call your provider's office and see what they say about when they'd normally see you. GL!

It's almost 60 days, I've read on previous threads that if you reach 60 days and still don't have a positive pregnancy test it's time to go see the doc.
  • I would also add that one reason I like charting is that I can really see what's going on, like if you have ovulated or not.

Many of us on here use Fertility Friend (link in mine, and many other, signatures :)). They have very informative tutorials, if charting is something you might be interested in.

    Hope things get resolved soon!

  • Once you hit 60 days with no period & negative HPTs, it's time to call your Dr to get your cycle started. It's normal to have wonky cycles coming off BCP, I would assume the same for the ring. Tomorrow is 60 days, I would call.

    Welcome.

    PPs have given great advice.

I have to say it - periods are your friend. I mean the punctuation kind. It was really hard to follow your post as it was mostly one big sentence without punctuation, periods, etc. Try it for next time and you might get more help once people understand what you're trying to say. Good luck and definitely check out Fertility Friend.

    All ALers welcome!

  • Welcome to the board. The previous posters gave some good advice but it looks like you are already at about 60 days without a period. I'd call your doc tomorrow and see if they could help you out. It seems kind of silly that they gave you a blood test but didn't tell you about following up if you didn't get your period.

    Good luck!
