Is anyone not doing a birthday party for LO?
We had a party for DH on Sunday. It was only family and the only things I personally cooked were fruit salad, cake, and icing. Everyone brought a dish and H grilled. We had his graduation last night and I had to chase the boys there too. But, my hips hurt Sunday night so bad and today they still hurt and I'm still wiped out.
Anyway, DH really wants J to have a party, but I'm worried I will be super tired and not up for it. He promised to spend 30 minutes nightly helping me clean the house if we could have a party. But, I just don't know. I will be 37 weeks pregnant at the time and I really don't want to have the baby on his birthday.
Are you having a party for your LOs? Would you if you were 37 weeks pregnant?

Re: Birthday party
If I was 37 weeks pregnant I would still do something but small. What about just cake and ice cream? My sister was about that far along for my niece's party. They had it at a frozen yogurt place. My niece likes going there so she had a good time.
We aren't having one. We had a big 1st birthday party, and this year we are traveling around the time of his vacation. We will probably invite his grandparents and one set of aunt/uncle/cousin for a pizza dinner, but no formal party. I will also invite our nanny friends to the zoo or something for a fun day. But not for a party or anything.
I would probably have a party for DS if DH really wanted one, but I would probably ask that he plan it. I do like the offer of 30 minutes of help each night, though. I don't blame you for not wanting to do a party. If you do end up having one, could you schedule 2-3 weekends before the actual birthday? That would give you a little more time before the baby comes.
Party invitees will be MIL and FIL, my mom, my dad, my sister, my aunt and uncle.
I'll be 28ish weeks at that point. It's not going to be big or anything. Jay will grill and I'll make vegetables, salad and appetizers. I'll order a cake from Costco.
We'll likely be moving around that time, too.
So, yeah, I'd do one.
The day of her birthday though we might just go to the zoo since it should start to finally cool off around here.
I think we are going to do a small one. We don't know that many people here. At the very least, we'll go to the zoo or something fun.
If I were 37 weeks pregnant, I'd still do something small, even if it's just having a cake with your little family or doing a fun outing or something.
My plan was to go to the aquarium and out to ice cream at the Cold Stone next to the aquarium. Or to meet family at the ice cream parlor and have cake and ice cream there. I think wet going to have a little party. But I'm not cooking anything. We're going to do a ice cream Sunday bar and a pool party.
Yes and yes. I know I would regret it if I didn't have one for her.
My friend was 38 weeks pregnant when she threw her DD's 2nd birthday and she made it very simple and it was super cute and fun.
