OPK Newbie

Hi all,

 

I just purchased my first OPK since hubby and I are going to begin ttc but I have no clue how to use it. I purchased it off Amazon and it was $34 for a 20 count box. This seems kind of expensive? Are you supposed to use it over a course of 20 day per month? Or do you only use the OPK the week you expect to ovulate each month? It hasnt arrived yet so I haven't seen any instructions but I figured it may be a good idea to get a head start and ask you girls in advance how you use it.

The newbie link at the top of the page can answer some of your questions about OPKs. Most people recommend 2 times per day starting around CD10-12 (but this can vary depending on how long your cycles are).

As for the price, I paid $32 for 100 OPKs and 20 pregnancy tests just last week on Amazon. I bought the wonfo brand.

Reading the instructions on the box will help. It all depends how long your cycles are. I start using them on CD 8 or 9,  but I have shorter cycles.

From what I've heard they Clearblue brand work fine. They just cost more.

Hi ladies,

 

thank you so much for your help! I am going to purchase some of those Wondfos. They seem like they're just as reliable but a lot less expensive. I like the idea of using the CBE to double check.
