When did you

When did you put your babies in their room? Dd sleeps in a rnp in our room. She grunts a ton and makes a lot of noise and I have great hearing and cannot sleep due to her noise. I feel guilty putting her in her room. She's 3 12 weeks so almost a month. Ds slept in our room till 3 months. Would you put her in her room? I have a fear of her choking or something even though she's ebf and had no issues.

Re: When did you

  • DS2 has no issues so we moved the RNP into his room when he was 8 weeks. I'm now trying to get him into his crib.

DS1 had severe reflux with occasional aspiration so we didn't move him until he was 4 months and the reflux was under control with meds.

  • I get anxiety over things that could happen especially within the SIDS higher risk months. I wear ear plugs to sleep but still hear if she coughs. I will wait longer. I will probably transition around 2 months. Thanks for the input

  • DS went to his crib in his room at 2 weeks old. He was a loud sleeper. He started sleeping through the night at 8 weeks on his own, not sure if it had anything to do with the being in his own room. I just know we were all keeping eachother up it felt like, which is why we did an early transition.
  • DD was in her room within a month. She was a light sleeper and we all did better in our own rooms.

  • Around 5 months for DS1. DS2 will be longer because we're in the middle of a reno to add a room for him.

  • DS1 slept on his room from the 3rd day we brought him home. DS2 was 1 or 2 weeks old. I just always slept horribly with them in the room. I was always afraid to move for fear of waking them up.

this exactly.  I should have moved him earlier, I think I often got him up before he was really awake because I was so close I heard every little grunt and groan.  I eventually realized he would just go back to sleep most of the time.

  • Our second night home. Ds was the same as your LO. We all slept better after that.

  • 9ish months? He would have done fine earlier I think, but we wanted to keep him in our room for at least 6 months due to SIDS concerns. Then we happened to buy a house so we didn't want to transition him until we got into the new place.

  • 6 months old. We all slept a hell of a lot better once he was in his own room, but before that, I was more worried about SIDS than sleep. If I would have moved him any earlier, I would have been up all night checking the monitor anyways.

  • 2 weeks for both my boys. I keep the monitor on its loudest setting, right next to me. I can still hear every little noise.

  • After only a few days because he wouldn't sleep anywhere but his crib. So happy I did it early. No transition issues. We had the Angelcare Sound/Motion Monitor.
  • DD1 was probably about two weeks old, but only because I insisted she sleep on me, and DH thought I was being ridiculous and unsafe.

DD2 was probably about the same because she had to go back to the hospital until about a week old, and after that I needed her near me.

Neither one of them cared where they slept in relation to me. They transitioned to their cribs just fine.

  • I did seven weeks with ds and four weeks with dd because of the exact same reason you're describing.  I can hear every little noise, and I was waking up much more than they were.  I still kept the monitor up, so I didn't miss anything, but was able to sleep a little better.

Same, although I ended up staring at the video monitor a lot.

  • First night.
I give up trying to get a ticker.  I have a DD that is 2.5 years old and is awesome.  Maybe I'll add a quote to distinguish myself.  Hmmm.  How about...

  • DD never slept in our room.  She slept in her pack in play in the living room for the first 2 months and then she slept in her crib in her room for then on.  EX H and I lived in a 1000 sq feet 2 bedroom apartment though.

Almost exactly this. DD moved over just before 3 months. The Angel Care Monitor helps me sleep at night.
