Hey everyone!
I am new to this message board so I thought I would write a little intro post along with a charting question I have. I am 23 and have been married for about 2 years now and on about month 4 of TTC. I have had pretty irregular periods since going off birth control about a year ago and have recently been diagnosed with PCOS. This is my first full month charting my temps so I am still getting used to everything!
My question about charting is about taking temps. This cycle I have been taking my temp orally. However with the change of seasons I tend to have trouble breathing around this time so I most likely have been sleeping with my mouth open and am having a hard time detecting ovulation. My temps have been in the 36.30 range and last month (I started halfway through) they were around the 36.70 mark before I started my period. Is temping vaginally a good idea for me this in scenario and if so, should I be cleaning the thermometer with alcohol or something every day to ensure I don't get any infection or will it be okay if I have a cap on it? I have tried looking everywhere for this question but yet to find an answer!
It is nice to meet all you girls and I am looking forward to getting to know everyone ![]()
Thanks!

From what I've read from the ladies here, you should have 3 hours of sleep before taking your temp. Your sleeping habits may affect your temps but not sure if it's enough to give off an improper reading. Just make sure you take it before getting out of bed.
The ladies who are more familiar with temping can correct me if I'm wrong.
Yep to all of this!
Welcome to the board, and good luck!
