Hello,
I am new to this website and board! My husband (age 37) and I (age 24) are TTC. I went off the pill in February and never got a period, so I went to the Dr in May. They put me on medroxyprogesterone for 10 days to get my period, and AF did come on day 10, so this was a good sign. Now I'm waiting for my period to come on it's own this month, technically it should have came June 14, but has not yet and no signs of it coming either. I took a test and it was a BFN. Has anyone else had troubles getting a period after stopping birth control. I was on the pill for 6 years and always got my period the same time every month on it. I'm just looking for some feedback/reassurance! We would like to start a family soon since my hubs is older.
Re: Come on Period!
Bleeding while on the pill is actually a withdraw bleeding, rather than a true period, so I wouldn't compare then to now.
Where you regular before BC? For some people, their bodies regulate immediately after coming off BC. For others it can take awhile. Be patient. This is why it's important to track your cycles (many of us here use FertilityFriend) to give ourselves an idea of what to expect when during our cycles.
Good luck.

As Sunlavender mentioned it's important to chart your basal body temperature, not just use OPK. Opk may tell you you're body is gearing up to ovulate, but then actually do not. I rarely get positive OPKs, however charting my basal body temperature on fertility friend has verified that I did ovulate.

Medroxyprogesterone.. I'm pretty sure this is the generic version of Provera? If so, that's what I was on.
I also got off the pill in February, and after 3 months with no period my doctor put me on this medication. I'm only on CD17 so I'm not too worried.. but I also hope it comes on its own this time.
I know that's probably not helpful, but I thought I'd share since I'm in a similar boat.
Welcome and good luck!
Edit: As PPs have said, you definitely want to start temping/charting.
I stopped bcp last November and my first few cycles seemed somewhat normal but then they started to get really long, like 55+ days. My doctor says it can sometimes take your body a year to regulate all your hormones after stopping bcp, especially after being on them for the 12 years I had been. Around my third cycle of chartimg I noticed I was getting LH surges around CD 20 but not ovulating...my body then tries again after another week or two and is usually successful the second time around...have you been charting your bbt. After 6 moths charting it has really helped me understand more about my cycles. (That and reading 'Taking Charge of Your Fertility)
A friend recommended a vitamin called Fertility Blend and it's supposed to, among some other things, help regulate your hormone levels so you have more regular cycles. I've only been taking it for two weeks, and it suggests giving it three months before expecting results, but I'm hopeful it helps me. Their site is fertilityblend.com and they even offer to buy back unopened bottles if you should become pregnant while talk the vitamin!
