just starting the journey

my husband and I have started our journey of trying. We had unprotected sex last night and according to my calander I am at peek fertilization. when should I start taking tests? should I exercise as regular or lighten up? any tips?

The ladies on here are full of great information. Also, a lot of people on here use temping and OPKs to better track cycles and make sure you are hitting your FW.

  • Assuming you are ovulating currently, it's pretty standard to wait 12-14 days after to begin testing.  However, if you're simply going by a calendar or phone app, they are notoriously inaccurate at predicting your most fertile time since they go by averages and not your personal cycle. 

    Many of us here use FertilityFriend (a free website) to track our cycles, enter BBT, monitor CM, and use OPKs.  You may not be ready for all that, but the website does have free tutorials that can give you a better idea of what to expect when from your cycle.

    Excercise as normal.  There's absolutely no reason to lighten up your current workout routine.
