Disney: Presidents week or Easter?

We really want to go to Disney next year.   We would like to take the kids out of school, but my step son will be in 6th grade and I am not sure if its a choice or possibility.  If we must go during school breaks, which is the less of two evils?

Presidents Week or Easter Week?

Re: Disney: Presidents week or Easter?

  • NEVER Easter or Spring Break.  I speak out of experience.  Teachers have that week off too.  That is when my parents and all of their teacher friends would take us kids to Disney.

  • Both times are not ideal times to go but I think Easter is worse because everyone is out for spring break.

  • I don't have experience but I would guess President's week because a lot of schools only have a long weekend, not a whole week off. Although our spring break doesn't always coincide with Easter, either (Easter is late next year - April 20 - and I think spring break will be the week before).

  • I would say president's day week.  The crowds will be high but if you arrive at the parks before they open, go on the most popular rides first and use fastpasses, it shouldn't be too bad.

This is my favorite Disney blog and the author gives great advice on surviving the crowds during busy times.

  • President's Day, for sure!

We survived Spring Break in 2012 and had a blast but even August was less busy!

We are going next in November--and I'm a teacher too.  Not excited about telling my P that I need 3 days off...
