NTTGPR: Where do you buy your bras?

I feel a bit silly asking this, but where do you buy your bras? Or what is your favorite brand? I need to go bra shopping really bad (our puppy just ruined my favorite bra!). I have such a hard time finding ones that are inexpensive and of good quality. Help me out, ladies! :)

Re: NTTGPR: Where do you buy your bras?

  • Nordstroms.

they are the only ones that carry the brand I like and they will measure you. They are also generally cheaper or same price range as Vickies, and vickies only carries bras for normal sized boobs.

  • Victoria Secret and American Eagle (Aerie) most recently. However, I find that department stores' bras are just as durable and usually cheaper. I've shopped in Macy's and Sears for bras and liked both stores too.
  • Ugh bummer. There's nothing like your FAVORITE bra!

I will say I use to spend tons of money at Victoria's Secret in my early 20's, but now I get them from Target.  I also have gotten a couple from Aerie. However, I'm not working with a whole lot of chest! haha!

I used to go to VC but last year trued JC Penny. I have a big chest (DD) and they have a  larger selection.  They lasted about a year and both underwire snapped days apart.  They were the only two bras I had so I feel like they had served their life.
  • I wait for Victoria's Secret semi-annual and then I stock up. You can get some decent ones for 2/$40 there on a regular basis though.

  • Target and Aerie. I bought some VS bras but I felt like in no time the underwire had poked through. The Target and Aerie bras have lasted for a while and are still in great shape.
  • I don't buy often but I buy what fits well and thats VS. I know they are expensive but they last a long time and do what I need. I figure I buy maybe a bra a year so I dont mind spending $50 on something that lasts, kinda like good quality running shoes.

I usually wait till the 40% off sales, and then go crazy. It's rare that I find something there that doesn't fit. It's not like I wear their graphic t-shirts so I don't feel bad. They always have the cutest sweaters and cardigans too.

I know, I'm also a huge fan of their dresses. Sometimes their tops can run a little small for my chest or their stuff can be a bit boxy but for the most part it's usually good to go. That's pretty much my go-to place when I need to buy new clothes especially when they have the 40% off of their clearance items. I never thought to buy their bras, but I might have to take a look.

I used to shop at VS and go crazy during their semiannual sales. I have slowed down a bit lately bc I discovered I have too many bras. I sometimes check at TJ Maxx or Marshall when I'm there bc they have quality ones for a fraction of the price.
  • It really depends on your size. When I was really skinny and more flat chested (read: C-cup), VS was just fine. Then I got cheap and started buying them at Target. Then I gained 30 lbs and graduated to a G-cup. Now I buy them online, at a local bra boutique, or at Nordstroms.

    So my recommendations are:

    VS/Target: Good to D/DD

Nordstroms: All sizes, but especially DD+

  • I'm not super picky, VS, Target, Marshall's, Fredrick's of Hollywood (surprisingly comfortable bras). But my favorite is Nordstrom's. I wear a 34 D, which is kind of hard to find, and that's where I've had the best luck with good fitting bras.

I about fell over when that was the letter I came up with. I had been wearing a 40D, and was going to move to a 38DD because the cups weren't big enough.
