? On baby carrier and pumping bra

My DD is 3 weeks and is starting to want to be held all the time. I am hoping to wear her but only have the Baby Bjorn . Is she too little for this? What would you recommend for this age?

I just got a double pump this week and need to get a hands free nursing bra. Can anyone recommend theirs? If it matters, I have a huge chest

Thanks!

  • I made my own hands-free pumping bra by cutting small holes in an old sports bra over my nipples, just big enough to fit the tubes of the flanges. Cheap, easy, and works great.

I use the Moby wrap and I used it for the first time at 2 weeks when I went for a walk. As far as a hands free pumping bra, both my sisters recommended the Medela one to me but it was around $35 and I was feeling cheap so instead I took a tight fitting sports bra that I already had, put it on, marked my nipple location with a marker and cut a small hole on both sides. Slip the breast shields inside the bra and connect and you're good to pump! I too have a very large chest and this worked for me.

  • I love my ring sling. It's a 100% linen one from sleepingbaby.net. It's been super easy to use. Some people love the Moby for the newborn stage, but I wasn't a huge fan.

I've been using the strapless Easy Expressions bra for years. One of the best pumping accessories I ever bought. I have a size large for a bust size of 34-36 D-F.

  • Baby Bjorne carriers are "crotch danglers".  Our ped recommends not using them until after 6mo to prevent hip problems.

  • You can also check out TheDairyFairy.com.
They make an all in one bra that you can wear all day, nurse and pump in.
Its called the Arden.  More expensive but definitely worth it if you plan to nurse and pump for a while.

  • I second the cutting slits in the sports bra. As far as the carrier I have a moby wrap and an ergo. I love both of them. I used the moby from the beginning. There are great youtube videos that demonstrate the newborn carry. I just bought the ergo and I absolutely love it. It is probably a better investment because with infant insert you can use it from 7lbs - 45lbs.
  • I would suggest using a Moby. Like a pp said, the Bjorn is not ergonomically correct.
  • I have the baby k'tan and love it for carrying 4 wk old in. I got the medela pumping bra which is ok and I recently got the Arden bra from thedairyfairy.com and really love that. Definitely worth the money bc you can actually wear it as a bra when you're not pumping, unlike the medela.
  • I have a moby and DD loves it! I've heard that it does get hard to use as baby gets bigger so we also plan to buy an ergo
