Ovulation/CD Question...

Ok - so... My cycle is usually 30 days - give or a take a day. I am pretty sure that I started ovulating this past weekend, but no longer have the "stretchy" CD - how long does ovulation typically last? Also, is it possible to get pregnant without the visible CD, say if we were to try this coming weekend, or beginning of next week?

Based on cm (cervical mucus) only, if it's dried up then it's possible you've already ovulated. The egg is viable only for about 24 hours after ovulation. But there's no way to be certain you ovulated without temping and charting. Read the newbie link and lurk ~ you have a lot to learn!

Okay. Thanks. I was just curious. I have never had to "try" before - with my first DD it was a surprise and with my second DD, the first time we decided to try I got pregnant... but NOW my situation is different, being as my husband's job takes him out of town a lot during baseball season... and I was hoping that since we will be together starting this weekend and next week we could try - but I think you're right about the CM ( not CD oops! ) - it's no longer there so I guess I missed the window this time.

CM is probably the least reliable sign of ovulation, you can really get EWCM at any time in your cycle, not just when you're O'ing. With your husband out of town a lot, you'll really want to do all you can to pinpoint your fertile window as accurately as you can. Get an account with Fertility Friend, you can get there by clicking my chart link in my siggy. Do the tutorials, they're fantastic and you'll learn tons. Buy a bbt thermometer and start temping, and use FF to chart. All this and more are in the newbie link at the top of this page. Good luck!

Your daughters are adorable! I definitely recommend reading the newbie link, and checking out FertilityFriend.com. They both have a lot of really good info about TTC, and charting your temp will help you pinpoint your fertile window so you can better time sex. Good luck!
