This has probably already been posted but I don't feel like searching, any suggested baby monitors? I honestly have no idea whats the best to buy! I am planning on just buying a regular one without video. Suggestions?
The only one I could find that got consistently good reviews on Amazon is the vtech one... I think it's right around $40. That's what we went with (we couldn't find it at any big retail stores, though, so you may have to order it)....
We are looking at the ones by Summer. I was planning on having only audio but my DH brought up wanting to be able to watch him and it's a good way to make sure he hasn't rolled over.

Its definitely a personal preference but I LOVE my video monitor. I have used it every day for two years and it is worth every penny IMHO. It has saved me a lot of trips into DS's room to investigate unknown noises etc. and I got a lot of peace of mind from being able to see him. Recently my son climbed out of his crib for the first time. The audio sounded like nothing but when I double checked the video I saw a baby walking around his room and not in his crib.
An added bonus is that you get to see them doing all of the cute things that they do in their crib that you wouldnt otherwise see.
We have a Uniden video monitor we love. And since it isn't marketed as a baby monitor, it was way less expensive for the quality. DD is 2 1/2 and its still going strong. We plan to add another camera (we Already have 2) and one more monitor for when LO arrives, mostly because we figure it will be easier to not have to move the monitor around too much.
We have a video monitor and LOVE it! When you hear a clunk or a funny noise you can just click and see if there is a problem or if they are just shifting! SO nice so that you don't sneak in to check and accidently wake them up. My son just turned 2 and we have had so many laughs watching him on the monitor We wish we had the one that you could record! I sleep way better when I can SEE him sound asleep with the click of a button. Just don't stay up watching all night

This is what we got:

the bigger monitor is in my night stand and the other one we carry around the house. We tested it and love it.
