At DDs school the boys hold the back of the toilet tank and kind of plank over the bowl, have you tried that? I don't have boys, but DD gets into that position and tells me "when I was a boy I stand like this and my pee comes out of a snake"
I held DS up with his knees at toilet level and leaned him over the bowl. he was eventually tall enough to go by himself standing up but for the first few months I had to help him each time.
