Last time I had severe hypertension and was finally induced at 38w6d due to a bp of 105/155 (he came at 39w exactly). There is a reason for your doctor's concerns. The HBP can cause complications, but just follow your doctors orders and hopefully you will be able to keep that baby in cooking a few weeks longer.
I have preexisting hypertension and during my last pregnancy was put on bed rest at 31 weeks. It isn't the WORST thing that can happen, but I would listen to your doctor's orders. Hypertension in itself complicates things, but also can be an indicator of pre-eclampsia. Make sure you're monitoring it!
