Mine are also 16 months apart. I love my skip hop bento, although it is truthfully still tight...but that's mostly to Di with how big my older child's diapers and clothes are!
Not sure I would have lived it when number two was younger and not eating solids, as the inbuilt snack bag is a big plus... Although you can remove the snack compartment and use it as another storage compartment.
I have the Jujube BFF and love it. The funny thing is that I bet if I had had with only DD I would have said no way can it fit stuff for 2 but now, I realize there's just a lot that I don't need to carry on a day to day basis. There's also a lot you can leave in the car. I leave changes of clothes and extra diapers in the car. I carry only really what we need for maybe 4-6 hours at a time.
I also have the Jujube Be Prepared for long outings or overnights but that thing is giant. I wouldn't want to be carrying it day to day.
We were 2 under 2, now 3 under 3!
Team Green turned Team Pink with #1, Team Green turned Team Blue with #2, Team Green turned Team Pink again with #3

Like pp we ended up keeping the bag light and usually having another bag with more stuff in the car.
We keep 2 bags stocked (our other bag is a regular backpack) mainly because there are situations where the 2 kids go different ways - like I take the little one to the grocery while H takes DS to the park.
Ours will be about 12.5 months apart and I got the jujube be prepared. I love it and I don't even have the second yet! It is so roomy and just what this overpacker needs!
We have the Skip hot Bento and the Ju ju be be prepared. I take the Bento for most simple trips and the Be Prepared when I need to pack for the day and PJS. I would love a BFF. The Bento does get tight when I try to pack cloth but it'd be perfect for someone who uses disposables.
Mine kids are 16 months apart and I recommend the Skip Hop Bento as well. It's a great size (not too big, not too small) and I love that there is a separate compartment for food and a bottle/cup holder on each side.
We have the same situation going on. I'm pretty sure our DS's are born the same day and these babies might be due same day also
Anyway, I have a JJ cole. And Im an extreme over packer. But I think it will work fine for us. An extra onesie, and a few more CD in the wet bag. I'll probably also keep a bag with "outfits" for all of us in the car.
I LOVE my Vera Bradley diaper bag! So much so that someone always gets me a new one (even though they last forever!) with each baby! I'm on Vera bag # 3! My oldest Vera Bag is 5 years old and you'd never know it! There's room for all the stuff that comes along with two under two. Any so many patterns to choose from.

I have a JJ Cole bag that works well for 2 (not this pattern but this style - https://www.amazon.com/JJ-Cole-Mode-Diaper-Mixed/dp/B00511J6IA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1371137207&sr=8-1&keywords=jj+cole+bag )
