I know this is a hit or miss but I am already stir crazy on day 1 of my summer vacation and I want to shop!! Here is what I have so far clothing wise:

Newborn:

14 onesies/outfits

3 sleepers

0-3:

16 onesies/outfits

5 sleepers

Re: Baby clothes

  • It sounds like a good start, i would wait and see what you need when she gets here. The only thing i didnt see you list which my LO lived in the first couple months were gowns, they seriously made my life easier when it came to 2am diaper changes. Might want to throw that on your list.

  • What about hats and mittens? I guess they arent necessary either but even during the summer with the ac on babies can get cold and cannot regulate their body temp properly yet. And the mittens help my first one from scratching his face alot between nail clippings.

  • I don't see 3-6 month clothes?

How about any swaddleme's or sleepsacks?   I have a couple gowns for newborn and 0-3 months.

    What about hooded towels?

I have probably less than you do for newborn (I think I'm huge so I don't expect baby to be in newborn sizes long, but I could be wrong), but I have a lot of 0-3 and 3-6 month clothes. 0-3m has one drawer and 3-6m has another full drawer.  I didn't hang much b/c the dresser we have is large.

I don't have too much beyond 6 months except a few things I got on sale that are for colder weather. I think for stuff needed in the future I'll only be shopping really good sales until he's actually close to those sizes and I see what is still needed.

    Don't forget sun hats! :O)

Not sure if you group this with clothing but bibs are also good to have.

No, they arent the same. Gowns look like onesies but have open bottoms and are really long to their feet or past them. Sorta like a dress. The swaddleme are the new invention to replace regular swaddlig with a normal blanket.

  • Carters is having a decent sale right now (I think they might always be having a sale) - I just ordered some newborn onesies, gowns and mittens this weekend because I realized we had zero clothes sized newborn when I started thinking about packing our hospital bag.
