Baby taste buds

Apparently this kid is now tasting what I am eating. Let me tell you he is gonna LOVE apple juice. I know most kids like apple juice but I'm drinking so much of it lately he is gonna come out of the womb craving it. I need to start eating more random foods to get his buds up to par with vegetarian living. More hummus, beets, and Brussels sprouts need to happen.

Have any of you guys tried expanding the foods you are eating in hopes to make LO not a picky eater? According to the baby books this is supposed to work. We'll see!

Re: Baby taste buds

  • This amazes me.  I'm really trying to keep to healthy living, but at this point LO is going to just want ice cream and watermelon.

    I'm trying to go back to juicing b/c lately I have had a serious decrease in my appetite and when I do eat it's only and apple and some cereal.  Most of the day goes by and I feel like I haven't gotten nearly enough nutrition.

  • I have a petty adventurous palate, and our 15 month old has literally never rejected a food option. She will eat beets, Brussels sprouts, asparagus, and loves garlic on anything!

    We always threw spices into her baby food dishes and started her tasting our food from a young age. Love that we can take her to any restaurant and just give her some of our food instead of buying chicken nuggets or having to bring our own food.

    Not exactly expanding, but I had lemonade for the first time since becoming pregnant and almost lost my whole lunch. I normally love fresh squeezed lemonade, but I guess the baby does not.nbsp;

    Say what!? Oh man. If I'm not drinking apple juice it's lemonade. So
    Much lemonade. Gives me heart burn like a mother but so delicious. I'm usually chasing some kind of jalapeo dish with it so
    Maybe it's the hot peppers that give me the heart burn. Who knows.

    That's awesome! I remember being a very picky eater as a kid. It was so hard to feed me lol I'm
    Much better as an adult.
  • i eat a lot of different things, especially ethnic type foods.  my son now loves indian food lol, but pretty much sticks to teh standard boringass kid fare the past couple of years ugh. hoping it's just a phase and he will soon come back around.

  • I'm super picky so I've been TRYING to branch out a little bit.  I must admit that I fail most of the time.  Grilled chicken and steamed broccoli or cereal is what my kid is gonna eat :(

  • I usually eat a variety of foods, but this girl is all about the sweets! I ate a whole box of Frosted Flakes in 4 days! There are 14 servings in a box! Ugh.
