3rd Trimester

hemroids...:-/

I have my first ever hemroid. I'm Dr. Googling it and the internet says they last for pregnant women for the duration of pregnancy...WHAT?! So 8 more weeks of this bad boy? Does anyone know if it's possible for it to go away? I know they can come back and most likely will especially in labor.

  • Call your OB and see what they have ok'd for treatment options. Usually witch hazel is pretty safe. Some doctors are ok with people using Tucks pads, etc.

Try consuming a little more fiber (either in your diet or as a supplement).

  • Oh yeah, they can last a long time. Labor will make it worse.

  • Sorry, but you're stuck until at least after delivery. 2.5 years later, and I still have the one that developed around 30 wks with DD.

I don't think they are going anywhere until after delivery. Even after DS mine would flare up sometimes and came right back with this pregnancy!

There's a whole section in the drugstore for you to browse!

  • i still had issues a full year after DD was born. medicated pads/wipes are a must, stool softeners and suppositories when you need it- and don't try to tough it out!
  • Warm baths and it may sound weird but message it a little while in the tub. My doctor also gave me a cream to use that seems to help a bit. But most likely they won't totally go away until after baby gets here, I've been dealing with them for over a month now. And like PP said don't try and tough it out, they will just get worse.

Used all kinds of doc recommended stuff nothing worked...ended up seeing a proctologist 2 weeks ago and got a miracle gel ...still have them but they are numb....have to see him again 8 wks after baby to see if they will go away on own or if he will remove...good luck hope they don't get as bad As mine.....

You can find witch hazel in most drug stores in the skin care aisle. I'm not sure if they specifically sell them as pre-medicated pads, but you can buy the liquid and apply it however you wish (cotton balls, TP, those neat little make up cotton rounds/pads, etc). If you have questions, ask a pharmacist.
