I'm looking for some softer sounding boy names that have yet to be taken over by the girls. I really like Dylan but I'm not so sure any more...
I like Tristan but I'm not sold on it because of the meaning. Although I do like the history of the name.
I really don't like in your face boy names...like Diesel, Axel, Gunnar, ect.
Help me out!!!
Re: Softer Boy Names
Ryan
Tyler
Owen
Levi
Evan
Ian
Nolan
Jonah
Noah
Elijah
Elliott
Yeah...I know. I don't like it either. Most of the names you listed I would say are strong names...but not "in your face". They sound intelligent and thoughful. That's what I'm looking for but I live in an area full of "good ole' boys" so I need a name that meets somewhere in the middle. I really like Sebastian but fear he would stand out like a sore thumb.
I think Henry, Ezra, and Oliver may work.
Thanks for the suggestion but I'm afraid Sasha wouldn't work at all.
Sasha is technically the Russian nickname for Alexander. The full version is pronounced more or less like Alek-sandr. Sasha is a very nice name on it's own, but I think it fails the "not taken over by girls" test.
I do like Isaac.
hmm - lots of good suggestions in this thread, trying to think of others (not sure if these are all "soft"):
Joel
Isaiah
Thomas
Tyler
Ethan
Gavin
I must suggest Emery!
Gabriel
Julian
Kelly
Finn
Pierce
Damian
Ian
...especially considering that it is also the nn for Aleksandra
Jasper
Calvin
Ryan
Ian
Beau
Davis
frederick
Graham
Kyle
I was going to suggest Wesley

One of the reasons I love my son's name so much is that it sounds "softer" to me. His name is Ethan. I feel the same way about Nathan & Nathaniel.
Other suggestions:
Jonah
Noah
